PROOF OF MEDICAL BATTERY & RETALIATORY ABANDONMENT (AUDIO RECORDED)
As a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) with 18 years of clinical experience, I am horrified by the treatment I received at CentraCare Monticello. I presented in an active, life-threatening Iatrogenic Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency (ISAI) crisis (documented cortisol of 4.0).
I have full audio recording of the entire encounter, which proves the following:
Medical Battery & Gross Negligence: Despite my warnings that I was crashing and required immediate IV stabilization per ISAI protocols, the provider attempted to push high-dose Hydroxyzine and Xanax. Administering sedatives to a patient in an adrenal crisis is clinical malpractice that can cause fatal respiratory and blood pressure drops.
Retaliatory Abandonment: The recording (00:17 - 00:59) captures staff (Adam and others) explicitly deciding to withdraw care because I was recording for my protection. When staff realized their negligence was on record, they told me I was "100% welcome to leave," effectively forcing an unstable patient in an endocrine emergency to "self-rescue" and drive home.
Violation of Standard of Care: The recording captures the staff (Ryan) admitting their "protocol" involves a 45-60 minute delay for an IV when the emergency standard for adrenal crisis is 5 minutes.
Refusal of Physical Comfort/Safety: The recording captures my pleas to remove an improperly placed, painful IV needle, which the staff argued against—a direct violation of patient rights and basic humanity.
Documented Knowledge Gap: Even the pharmacist on record later admitted there is a "knowledge deficit" and "gap" in this ER’s ability to treat Adrenal Crisis.
I have filed formal reports with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and the Medical Assistance Fraud Division. If you have a complex medical condition, do not trust this facility with your life. They prioritize their ego and defensive charting over "Do No Harm"”

“If I could give negative stars, I would.
Saturday night I was brought via ambulance (also problematic) to Monti ER because I had a kidney stone that was so painful I fainted. (I didn’t call the ambulance a friend did cause they got scared).
After being thrown into a wheel chair and waiting over 30 mins in the waiting room I was brought into a room, given a urine sample and then left to wait for a solid 3 hours where I wasn’t given any pain management. Hours later they eventually gave me Tylenol which did nothing and was told I didn’t have a kidney stone, that I was making it up and asked if I was sure I wasn’t on my period. They treated me as some kind of pill grabber whilst I was curled in a ball in pain. Sent home about 4am with no pain management, and no help.
Sunday/Monday early morning (2am) I woke up in agonizing pain again. By Sunday around 4 pm I passed 2 fairly large stone and I still feel more.
If I could include photos I would.
Don’t go to this place if you value your time or your health. If I had been given a choice, I would have chosen where I went but the very unkind paramedics didn’t give me a choice.”
